DPS Srinagar announces Rs 50,000 cash reward for meritorious Ganderbal girl

SRINAGAR – : Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar on Saturday announced Satya Devi Prize & a two year fully funded scholarship to the meritorious girl, Parveena Ayoub of Ganderbal who scored 490 marks out of 500 in her 10th standard examination despite of all hardships & struggles she made, because of an extremely poor family background.

The award also carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000.

Parveena’s father, Muhammad Ayoub, who is professionally a labourer, has to support a family of six including his four daughters and wife & because of his low income, the family lived in a single-room tin shed with limited facilities.

Despite being a daughter of financially poor family, Parveena with her hardwork & struggle, managed to secure good grades in her 10th class examination while studying in a single-room tin shed with her siblings & parents.

Every year, Delhi Public School offers a cash prize of Rs 50,000 to the meritorious girl students to promote women empowerment.

While announcing the reward and scholarship, Vijay Dhar who is the Chairman DPS Srinagar said, “Parveena’s success deserves to be encouraged further. We won’t let her struggle go into vain because of her poor family background.”

He also reiterated that Delhi Public School Srinagar will provide her the best platform to excel in academics & other co-curricular & extra-curricular fields.
