The High Court of J&K has yesterday issued bailable warrants against the Chairman Services Selection Board for flouting the court orders and directed the Senior Superintendent of Police to secure his presence before the court. Justice V C Koul has issued bailable warrants against the Chairman SSB for securing his presence before the court on next date to explain why the judgment passed way back in 2017 has not been complied with till date. When the matter was taken up today for further proceedings Sr. AAG A R Malik appeared on behalf of Chairman without any compliance of judgment and without presence of Chairman which prompted the court to issue bailable warrants against the top official.

“Therefore, this court is left with no option but to issue bailable warrants in the amount of Rs 20,000 for securing the presence of Chairman. The warrants shall be executed through concerned SSP”, Justice Koul directed.The court on January 31 had given last and final opportunity to Sr AAG Malik for compliance of basic judgment on behalf of Chairman with the condition the Chairman shall appear in person before court if compliance is not filed.

The direction to the SSB in the judgment was to supply the petitioner the requisite information as was directed by the State Information Commission (SIC) in 2013.The case of the petitioner is that she vide notification of the Board applied for the post of Food Inspector and selection process was completed and informed by the Board she could not be selected due to securing less points.

In order to know the actual position, she moved an Application under RTI for providing final award sheet of the examination held by the Board for the post and the court directed the Board to provide her the requisite document which she has sought under RTI.

The Board despite the direction did not furnish the requisite information to the petitioner compelling her to file contempt proceedings against the Board officials.
