Sadaf Ayoub Loses Battle Against Blood Cancer

SRINAGAR: 25-year-old university student, suffering from cancer lost her battle for life at SHMS hospital on Friday evening. Sadaf Ayoub, belonging to a poor family in Lassipora, Pulwama was diagnosed with blood cancer by the doctors at SKIMS last year, just after she had secured her slot for masters in the University of Kashmir.

Pertinently, in the month of June, a social media post detailing the plight of Sadaf went viral and her picture was all over social media. Her family sought public help to raise funds for her treatment. Within 24 hours of the post, the required amount was raised for her treatment.

As per media reports, more than 1 Crore was raised for the young cancer patient. Sadaf’s brother later had to request the public to refrain from making any further donations. (KS)
